Why We Built FivoTools
Finding a simple, reliable answer online has become surprisingly frustrating. When you need to calculate a pay raise, check a roof pitch, estimate gravel for a driveway, or generate a clean QR code, you are too often met with forced email signups, paywalled results, aggressive advertisements, or opaque calculation boxes that refuse to explain their math.
FivoTools was created to solve that friction. Our goal is straightforward: tools that just work. You open the page, enter your numbers or select a file, get an accurate, verified result immediately, and move on with your day.
What We Do
FivoTools is an evolving collection of public, free utilities organized into focused categories:
- Work & Pay: Time cards, pay raises, salary-to-hourly conversions, overtime splits, and IRS mileage tracking.
- Roofing & Construction: Pitch ratios, sloped surface areas, shingle bundle counts, gravel tonnage, and deck board estimates.
- Home Improvement: Wall and room paint gallons, hardwood and laminate flooring boxes, carpet rolls, and garden topsoil.
- Business: Profit margins, markups, contractor job costing, and itemized browser-local invoice and estimate generation.
- QR & Utilities: Static, direct QR code generation with zero intermediate redirects and no service expiration.
- Image & PDF Tools: Client-side file conversion, image compression, PDF merging, extraction, and vector document signing.
Browser-Local Privacy by Design
We believe that tools should not hoard your private numbers. When you type your hourly wage into our salary calculator or generate a QR code for your private Wi-Fi network, that data belongs to you.
How Formulas Are Built and Checked
Every calculator on FivoTools adheres to a strict zero-guess calculation policy. We never estimate or approximate a formula simply because it looks plausible.
- Verified Sources: Mathematical formulas are sourced directly from official government bodies (such as IRS bulletins, OSHA guidance, and standard labor rules), established trade associations, or authoritative geometric and physical literature.
- Transparent Math: Each tool page explains the exact method and formulas used, making the math inspectable and educational.
- Explicit Assumptions: Where real-world variables differ (such as gravel density or roofing waste factors), we label them clearly as estimates, provide editable defaults, and explain the variables involved.
- Independent Verification: Pure calculation engines are built separately from the user interface and tested against known mathematical fixtures and edge cases.
What We Will Never Do
To preserve long-term trust with our users, FivoTools commits to clear principles:
- We will not require you to create an account or provide an email address to view a basic calculation.
- We will not hide your final result behind a paywall or artificial countdown timer.
- We will not disguise advertisements as calculation controls, download buttons, or navigation links.
- We will not invent fake staff bios, manufactured user reviews, or false star ratings.
- We will not manufacture false freshness by changing page review dates without real, substantive edits.
Who Is Behind FivoTools
FivoTools is developed and maintained by an independent engineering team passionate about building high-quality, lightweight web software. We prioritize software craftsmanship: semantic HTML, responsive design from 320px screens to large desktop monitors, WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards, and fast page loads.
Reporting Corrections
If you ever spot a discrepancy in our formulas, an outdated regulatory rate, or an accessibility issue, please use our contact and error-reporting page. We verify every submitted report against primary mathematical sources and release corrections transparently.
