Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an estimate and an invoice?
An estimate (or quote) is a proposed price provided before work begins so the client can approve the scope of work and budget. An invoice is a legally binding request for payment issued after milestones or final work are completed.
Why does 30% markup not equal 30% profit margin?
Markup is calculated on cost; margin is calculated on selling price. A 30% markup on a $100 cost results in a $130 price with a $30 profit. But $30 divided by the $130 selling price produces only a 23.1% profit margin.
Do I need to sign up or create an account to download invoices?
No. FivoTools generates vector PDF invoices instantly using client-side JavaScript. You do not need to register, provide an email address, or enter credit card details.
